1 to 2 teaspoons Sip Dopa Strawberry Whirl Matcha
-
60ml water, just off the boil at around 80°C
-
A glass of ice
-
200ml cold milk of your choice
-
Optional: a few fresh strawberries, mashed, for a fruity layer at the bottom
Method
-
If you want that strawberry layer, mash a few fresh strawberries with a little sweetener and spoon them into the base of your glass.
-
Fill the glass with ice and pour over the cold milk.
-
Whisk your Strawberry Whirl matcha with the hot water until smooth and frothy.
-
Pour the matcha over the top for the classic pink and green look, then stir before drinking.
Tips
-
The fresh strawberry layer is optional, the matcha carries plenty of flavour on its own.
-
For an extra pretty finish, run a little mashed strawberry around the inside of the glass.
FAQ
Why is strawberry matcha pink and green? The green comes from the matcha and the pink comes from the strawberry, sitting in layers before you stir. It is purely a visual thing, and it is why the drink is so popular online.
Can I make it without fresh strawberries? Yes. Our Strawberry Whirl matcha brings the strawberry flavour, so fresh fruit is just an optional extra for looks and texture.
